It's been my long time dream to see the blooming red coquelicots in Southern France, especially in Aix-en-Provence where my dear friends lives. So, this year I decided to see them and have fun. I already planned this for a long time, so I messaged my friend of the plan and she was willing for me to find a very nice place where the flowers abounds.
I was excited of this plan so I decided to buy a ticket for the middle of May and for my calculations the coquelicots will be out those times. I worked almost everyday to save up for my allowance for this trip and I just don't want to have it ruined because of my poor planning and preparations.
I booked an AirBnb, and then told my friend that I also want to see the Roman Amphitheater in Orange, the Roman Gladiator in Nice, and the Medieval Castle (an intact castle) in Carcassonne. My vacation will last for 9 days so hopefully this plan will suit for nine days.
One week before my vacation, I was struck with a mean respiratory viral infection and it's just a struggle coughing badly and having fever and night sweats in the afternoon. I've went to the urgent care but the MD sent me home to recuperate because it's just a viral infection and she gave me prescriptions to low down my fever.
I told to myself, I don't need that. The one I need is that I want to get well soon because I have a pending vacation in just 7 days. I stayed at home, having no appetite and just live with water, fruits and juices. It was a struggle because I am diabetic. The heavy cough still nagged me at nights and I still have the high fever and sweating at night.
As a health care professional, I was thinking the worse diagnosing myself but as days passed by staying at home and caring for myself alone I discovered a combo drug that treats my cough and stopped my nagging cough for a tad 12 hours then I have to retake again the combo drug. It works thus my recovery was quick.
I flew to France, still feeling week after recovering from a bad viral infection but I was excited because I can see the coquelicots now. as I claimed before, south France was my second home and I really missed by dear friends who still lives there.
I arrived in Marseille at 10PM, so I have to stay there for one night then in the morning will travel to Aix-en-Provence by bus. I did not explored Marseille that time because it was very windy and cold plus I was really really tired from the long trip.
I decided to cozy up at the hotel, warmed the room up because it was very very cold outside, then slept like a baby and woke up at 10AM the following day. I cannot contain my emotions because in a few hours I will see my dearest friend again.
After checking out at the hotel, I called an Uber to drop me off at the bus station, paid a ticket with the bus driver. The drive from Marseille to Aix-en-Provence was smooth. As if I've memorized the route already.
When we arrived at t he bus station in Aix-en-Provence, I immediately went to the AirBnb and checked in then took Bus 25 going to my friend Rosalie's house. I can still remember what bus and what route going there.
Aix-en- Provence had improved greatly. The shady Cours Mirabeau was been made wider and the shady trees were been trimmed giving an aura of being a modern Cours Mirabeau. I still like the old Cours Mirabeau, which was shady and had a provencal aura.
The Font de Bonaparte was still there. Same area but it was made more accessible. It's not a rotund anymore and there were areas where people can seat and enjoy the view of the fountain with waters gyrating at the graceful rays of the morning sun.
After several stops, I have arrived at Rosalie's house. I knocked and then she went out screaming. So we
